Santa Cruz Tree Trust

The Santa Cruz Tree Trust (SCTT) answers the question “How can I act globally by acting locally and improve the native ecosystem at the same time?”  SCTT was birthed from a Santa Cruz Climate Action Team that discovered that lowering ones personal carbon footprint is just the first step in creating sustainability. Taking the idea of eco-stewardship to the next level, SCTT provides opportunities for people to plant and nurture groves of trees around the Santa Cruz area. By planting natives and/or volunteering to help water and maintain them, we transform landscapes, capture carbon, restore lost habitat, bring the community together, and have fun!

While SCTT is partnering with the City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation Department, our commitment is that we are self-sustaining and do not add work or financial burden to the City. We simply move state and local projects beyond their current abilities. You or your organization can contribute by helping plant trees on one of our planting days, signing up for a month of watering, or contributing financially. 100% of your financial contributions will purchase trees (preferably natives) at the City's discounted rate and it's tax-deductible!

Let's regrow our urban forests!

... and have fun doing it!
