Safe Routes to School- This program includes traffic safety education classes, development of Safe Routes Maps for bicycling and walking to each school.

Commute Solutions (http://www.commutesolutions.org)- Provides encouragement and information to commuters on the alternatives to driving alone. These alternatives include carpooling, vanpooling, bicycling, walking, riding the bus, and telecommuting. They also provide personal assistance to all commuters and travelers wanting to use alternatives to driving alone. Commute Solutions serves commuters traveling within, into, or out of Santa Cruz County.

True Cost of Driving (http://www.commutesolutions.org/calc.htm)- This online educational tool will enable you to calculate both your out-of-pocket Direct Driver's Expenses and the Indirect Costs of your driving habits. Once you consider the true cost of driving alone, other transportation options such as carpooling, vanpooling, riding the bus, walking, riding a bike or telecommuting may become more attractive.

Bike to Work (http://www.bike2work.com/s_cruz/index.html)- Santa Cruz County Bike To Work/School Day is a community-wide effort, providing public education and incentives to promote bike commuting.

Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission Bicycle Planning and Programs (http://www.sccrtc.org/bike.html)

Community Traffic Safety Coalition (http://www.sctrafficsafety.org/)- Reduces traffic-related injuries, while promoting the use of alternative modes of transportation. The primary focus is on bicycle and pedestrian safety issues. The Coalition educates all road users in safety practices to decrease the risk and severity of collisions, and advocates for improved conditions to make all methods of transportation safer.

Ecology Action (http://www.ecoact.org/Programs/Transportation/index.htm)- Ecology Action’s Transportation Programs work collaboratively with public and private transportation agencies to assist commuters in finding ways to reduce single occupancy vehicle trips.

People Power (http://www.peoplepowersc.org)- Santa Cruz County's advocate for human-powered transportation.

Mission Pedestrian (http://www.missionped.org)- An organization of residents, business people, and neighbors who live and work in Santa Cruz that supports safe, comprehensive, convenient, accessible and attractive pedestrian travel ways.

Santa Cruz County Cycling Club (http://www.santacruzcycling.org/)- Brings cycling to all levels of riders, and encouragement of healthy lifestyles through education, friendship, teamwork and fun.
